The exact file rules the car enforces: PNG, 512–1024 px, under 1 MB, safe file names, ten slots.
What the car accepts
Tesla's Paint Shop reads custom wraps under these rules. Every one of them is enforced quietly: a file that breaks one simply never appears.
- Format: PNG only.
- Size: between 512×512 and 1024×1024 pixels. Exports from this editor are 1024×1024.
- Weight: at most 1 MB. Large photos and many layers push past this; simplify or use fewer photos.
- File name: letters, digits, underscore, hyphen and space only, up to 30 characters.

How this editor helps
Export checks all of the above before it saves the file and tells you which rule failed. File names are built to the car's character set automatically, and a title that cleans down to nothing falls back to a safe name.

- Why does my wrap not show up even though the upload said nothing?
- The car silently ignores files that break a rule. Check the name first: only letters, digits, underscore, hyphen and space, 30 characters at most.
- Does the image need to be square?
- Yes. 1024×1024 is the sweet spot; the car accepts 512 to 1024 pixels on each side.
- Can I use JPG?
- No. Only PNG is read. Transparency is kept, so leave the background clear.
